Josie and Zane's Wedding

When I first speak with a bride about her wedding flowers, I often ask her to send me 2-3 inspiration photos along with what she likes the most about each one. Sometimes each photo looks different than the others and the bride likes one element from each one.

In Josie's case, each photo she sent me included the same beautiful blue and white palette with pops of yellow. She wanted a classic French blue and white wedding featuring flowers like hydrangeas and roses. As a lover of blue and white, I was happy to oblige.

I love how each bridesmaids dress is unique and I think it goes so well with her French-garden inspired florals.

The big challenge came with the timing of Josie's wedding. Mid-July in the South is one of the hottest times of year and Josie wanted hydrangeas - a flower notorious for wilting under the best of conditions. I felt confident that if I could get the hydrangeas properly hydrated beforehand, they would have no problem standing up to the heat of the day. Thankfully, the gamble paid off and they held up great!

Little pops of daisy-like feverfew and buttery yellow yarrow added a touch of cottage whimsy to what could have otherwise felt like a very formal bouquet.

I offer the option for brides to order DIY buckets of flowers if they want to put together their own reception centerpieces. It's often something brides enjoy doing with their bridemaids and I think it's really special to be able to feel you've put your own personal touch on your day.

Josie ordered several DIY buckets for bud vases and I think she did a fantastic job setting up her tablescapes.

Josie and Zane chose to make the most of their flowers by reusing the floral install on the cross they were married under, on the mantle at their reception. I designed it with that in mind to ensure it would look good in both spaces, as well as be easy to move.

It was such a privilege to be a part of Josie and Zane's special day. If you have an upcoming wedding or event, I would love to chat and see if Acre Wood Flowers might be a good fit for you. I love nothing more than helping a bride make her floral vision a reality!

All these lovely photos were taken by Captured by Collier and they graciously allowed me to feature them here.
